Florida Debt Settlement Attorney

What Debts Can be Settled?

When attempting to settle your debts, there are two types of debt you must be aware of.  One can have secured or unsecured debt.  Secured debt is that which is secured by a car, appliance, or home.  Unsecured debts are credit cards debts or personal loans.  While both can be settled, often secured debt is settled by a creditor by taking back the item which was purchased, such as in a car repossession.  With unsecured debt, a creditor can be negotiated with on the balance owing.

Common types of debt that can be settled with the help of a debt settlement attorney include:

  • Credit card debt
  • Personal loans
  • Department store loans
  • Medical bills
  • Utility bills

Attorney Deborah Carman has the experience and skill to work with your creditors and negotiate a settlement on your behalf.  My legal staff has extensive experience in debt settlement and negotiations and knows what it takes to work with your creditors to work out the best possible solution for you.  They will work closely with all of your creditors to come to an agreed upon settlement figure in order to eliminate your debt.  Once a figure is reached, the agreed amount must be paid within a certain set time period.  Once paid, your creditors will no longer call or harass you, as the settled amount will be accepted as full payment.
